Lazy days are upon us, my friends. Cookouts in the backyard, pool parties, and family vacations are on the horizon. At the close of Summer, memories made will be talked, reminisced, and laughed about for years to come.

The implosion of America does not lie at the feet of the wicked, but at the heart of the Church. For decades we’ve ignored our Christian responsibility to “train up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6) and have allowed the secularists to train them. The number of children who have never stepped foot in a church or even heard the name of Jesus, except in vain, is continuing to increase. Even those who’ve grown up in the church are leaving the faith at alarming rates. Why do you think this is happening?

Afghanistan may not be in the headlines, but it remains the site of a real-life Hunger Games for our friends and allies trapped under Taliban rule. Hunted, many move from house to house to avoid detection. With their employers gone, they struggle to keep their families fed and sheltered. Those who have relatives outside the country survive on any remittances they’re able to provide. To work—if a job could be found—they would have to come out of hiding, an extraordinary risk.

Social Media has become a staple in almost everyone’s life. In fact, in 2021, there were 4.48 billion social media users around the world! While this number can make us feel like we all are connected and have something in common, the reality is there were 4.48 billion chances for dangerous relationships to develop on social media.

I’m finding that most of life is lived on the warp — on the in-between threads that no one sees. But these are the moments that a life is crafted upon. The in-between loads of laundry, the morning routines, the conversations over sticky tables; these are the times when words of life are spoken into the hearts we love, when memories are made, when inner voices are established. And so often these in-betweens are the things we rush through.

Stress is a fact of life. How we manage our stress says a lot about our depth of faith and how much we rely on God each day. When we manage stress effectively, we can find peace in a stressful world.

“At your age you want to become foster parents?” My friends, Bonnie and Gene, were asked this question often but chose to walk by faith into their retirement years and foster children.

Now more than ever, parents, grandparents, family members, and friends bear the privilege and responsibility of praying for the children. It’s easy to become lazy or even negligent about praying for the children in our lives, so here are seven suggestions for how to pray over them…

It’s something that happens in about one in a million births. And it happened at Lexington Medical Center on January 3, 2022. Ellie Min and her husband Eric Jung of Chapin welcomed identical triplet daughters. Statistics show that only four sets of identical triplets are born in the United States each year.

As parents, we quickly realize the huge responsibility bestowed on us. One of the most important gifts we can offer our children, besides the love of Jesus, is to teach and model good health practices. Providing a safe, stable environment for our children also includes serving them the best foods possible to nourish the growth of their bodies and minds.

Josh was finally “done, finished with drugs.” This was a huge relief for his father, Eric Bedingfield, the then-State Representative from Greenville County. Josh had struggled with drugs growing up, but his life was beginning to turn around. 

Did you know there’s a Lion King inside God’s story of redemption in the Bible? Actually, the story involves two lions. These lions are at odds with one another. One is the essence of good and the other of evil.

If Children are the hope of the future, then parents are their hope for the present. It’s time for this present generation of parents to assume their sacred position—to fight against and protect their children from the lies of the evil one and instill in them the Truth of the Holy One.

While rays of sunlight dance like diamonds on lakes, rivers, and oceans, there is a dark cloud looming overhead. Our spiritual enemy is working furiously to lure our most precious of blessings, our children, away from God’s truth, love, mercy, and grace.
